Stand
Know that it’s difficult
To live inside a lie
Where there’s no meaning to live
Or purpose to die
Pretend that it’s easy
That each day just comes and goes
When you’re going through the motions
Most times you hardly know
Sometimes it’s our fault
Condescending to the core
I was just a dreamer
With the nerve to be adored
One look into your eyes
And you had every little piece
We learn to give and take
And you took the best of me
The world was black and white
Until you put up walls of shame
I held on to your heart
And wished them all away
In everything you said
You never could take heart
I held myself together
While you tore me apart
So tonight I stand alone
And think our lives through
I think about my future
Without you.
