Wrecked
You stay awake all night
Praying he’s okay
The world moves on too quickly
Pulling you away
Sometimes you regret it
Letting him leave alone
No one can forget it
Because he never returned home
You pick up every bottle
And poor it down the drain
Everybody wishes
He would have done the same
He was sixteen years old
That day he bought the car
With it, he stole his life and someone else’s
The night he left the bar
You pace back and forth
And stare straight at the door
Last night you had the visit
That sent you to the floor
Now that you’re alone
You ask yourself why
Why you didn’t teach him
Not to drink and drive

Dans chaque fil il y a un debut.
Unfortunately many people in my family have a history of drinking and driving.
I refuse to be the same way.
I think it is important to open peoples eyes to how dangerous this is.
This poem did just that, and it was well written also.
