A star shines brightly amid the darkness
The moon is its only friend,
Darkness envelops me in its enchantment
Lifting me high into its glory,
Lying in bed, my thoughts aloft
As dreams run through my brain,
My eyes drift closed.
Light seeps through the lids
Music blasts,
Letting me know that it is time to awaken.
A day of boredom and knowledge stands in my way.
Dressing for fun and fashion
Spraying my hair into place
Coating my face with powder, color, and shadow
Ready for life in a day.
