The butterflies died
I get butterflies
everytime I see you- your eyes.
They flutter around in my stomach
that feeling Ii get- I love it.
But today, you go and you flirt
Terribly, that made my stomach hurt
It made me want to cry-
one little butterfly died.
You smile at me in the halway-
I love it when you look my way.
But today I saw you hugging another
it made me want to run for cover.
Hugging her when you said bye....
Two little butterflies died.
You come up to me and say hi-
I'm so lucky you're by my side.
But I don't notice that girl-waiting around the corner
to me, she's only a foreiner.
To her, though, you're her guy.
Three little butterflies died.
You're single now, you come about
And, of course, just now, you asked me out.
The butterflies, though, now are gone
They haven't come around on and on.
I say no thanks, turn around, say bye.
I guess somewhere along the way- The butterflies died.
