I've got my Clock
I’ve got my clock
And you’ve got yours
Working off
your clock
I do my chores
Working off
my clock
I nurse my bores-I snored on
your clock
Your second hand’s
a sloth
man
I’m melting
to my cloth
man
I think Dali drew
Your clock
man
Drew it in the
sand
man
You’re turning us
to jello
So sedated
bellies yellow
Your ticks
are tocking
blocking sound waves
spraying mellow
while I bellow
I don’t see why
you can’t see
your clock
is not set
right for
me
My
ticking heart
tocks rapidly
My
tocking mind
ticks restlessly
So don’t waste
your ticks or tocks
on me
You’re scared
of me
My racing beat
You know
speed spreads
contagiously
So you come chasing
after me
With badges, chains, and
clocks for me
I’m sent away
you try
to change-my speeding clock
I grow deranged-out
on the range-Not on my home
Where the deer and antelope
die alone-
Out on your fields
soaked with
our blood-Which
we churn in
and turn to mud-Which then
we graze within
your gates
I’m anxious now, but
your clock
waits-It takes its time
for time is its- Except that
time does not exist
Open the gates
before I break
my racing clock-
for
your own sake
For
if you don’t
My time will spread
to
ticking clocks
and
tocking heads
And then
they’ll talk
about my tocking
And then
they’ll run
now done
with walking
We’ll break
your gates
escape
your clock
Now swift and free
your time
they’ll mock
So let me tick
to my own tock
What is
your pace
trying to block?
My racing mind
Why
need it
leashed?
So that
control remains
un-breached?
Well
f**k
control
And
f**k
your clock
Soon
you or I
ticks
his last
tock
A final draw
decides our fate
We draw once
your clock
crawls to
8
And in that
moment
between ticks
The
tocking arms
are good as sticks- Or snails
that they are- They are
no use
For
time’s suspended
from
a noose
You’ve practiced
slow
I’ve practiced
fast
I say to you
all things must pass
You’ve got your clock
(tick….tock….tick….tock….)
And I’ve got mine
(ticktockticktock)
You’ve got your glock
And
I’ve
Got
Mine
tick
TOCK
