On Thanksgiving Morning (and at all other relative summoning events)
I went to the kitchen this morning
To hear a symphony
Of pots and pans and sizzling oil
A joyous cacophony
I went to the kitchen this morning
To watch a great debate
Of whether to fry or toast it
Of whether to broil or bake
I went to the kitchen this morning
To see an ancient dance
Of turning, twisting and tossing
Seems dinners turn out by chance
I went to the kitchen this morning
To see a great parade
Of gawkers, sniffers and tasters
But excitement will soon fade
I went to the kitchen this evening
Picked up a dirty pot
Started scrubbing, washing, wiping
This is my usual lot
