Addicted
Addiction to drugs,
Is a problem and a half.
Now addiction to love
or life or to laugh,
Is free and harmless.
You can easily get hooked
But you're on a safe harness.
It's okay to be looked at,
When you're madly in love.
But when you're pale and skinny,
You've simply had enough.
When you're laughing you're happy,
And are glad of your friends.
But when high as a kite,
Paranoia descends.
While living, ecstatic!
The world is your oyster.
On drugs, misery takes hold
Happiness is gone, life, over.
