Giddy-up horsy, I don’t want to stop, spinning around
on this big spinning top. Gleaming paint, and colours galore,
tinny music – I WANT MORE. Round and round and round again,
waving to mummy – “look at me Gran!”
Faster and faster
At Dizzying speed
I’m racing my brother
But - He’s in the lead!
“Mr ‘Man with the money’, please don’t slow down! I’ll give you my sweetie
Just let me go round”. I’m scared to let go, but I’ll wave to look cool,
My horse gallops harder, still losing this duel. The music is slowing, the cogs start to clatter
Caught unawares, my pennies I scatter.

This race can’t be lost!
I tighten my grip, and dig in my feet, “come on boy; faster!”
Sit straight in my seat. Pouring out steam and trying to stop, the jovial
Tune starts to splutter and flop. Shaky and giddy, crying tears of mirth
Dismounting my mare, I loosen the girth.
Out of control,
Around and around,
Yet again without winning
Neither penny nor pound.
