“Edward Cullen!”
“Lucien Mulholland!”
“Dave the Laugh!”
we squeal at every quote
on every page
a close group of teenage girls
snuggled together
on the couch
in our pajamas
reading our favorite books
aloud to each other
and swooning when our crushes
speak.
Oh, what has become
of modern teenage boys
that intelligent teenage girls
are forced to flock together,
shriek, and cry,
with mad, passionate love
for book characters?
