Searching My Brain
Sitting by the window
Staring at the wall
Waiting patiently for
My consciousness to call
Pick up the phone
To see what's on my mind
Nothing at all
Is the answer I find
But the question I asked
Was not the right one
At this quandary I thought
My thinking was done
But out of the blue
A thought popped in my head
Maybe it's not the question
But the answer instead
So I look through my mind
A penny for each thought
But very soon I'm out
Of all the money that I brought
On my way to the bank
I could finally tell
My thoughts cleared up
As I passed Taco Bell
Though my mind is buzzing
Like a thousand mosquitoes
I have the answer I seek
I think I want a burrito
