The Beach
Lounging in the striped beach chair,
the sand in our toes,
the waves crawling up to our feet,
I sit next to my mom.
I can still see her happy eyes through the dark glasses and wide brimmed visor.
Under the sun we lie,
Until the heat draws us into the crystal blue ocean.
The day closes to an end as we watch the sun setting from our porch.
A perfect view from the wooden, rusty rocking chairs.
