Though my opinion some aristocrats may abhor,
I find their dress an utter bore
Crammed tight in stuffy petticoats
For “carefree” days on ideal boats!
Their hair adorned with jewelry
Like a stiff, forgotten Christmas tree
Their faces smeared with things impure
To achieve a gross, unnatural allure
Their hands, uncallused, gloved, dainty and light
Their bods unbruised--with skin pale white
As if they’ve never seen the sun
Much less have had a spot of fun!
And so, this style I bash and pound
For who really needs jewels or a silken gown?
I am perfectly happy with my brown woolen shirt
And burlap pants--no bodice, no skirt!
I’ll dance in the mud any day--rain or shine
For my simple attire is simply divine!
