How The Raven Came Black
Once there lived, in silent dell,
A creature of the purest white
It nested high above the trees
And gloved beautifully at night
But other fauna of the wood
Were jealous of this critter
And so, one night, they burnt his coat
His feathers black and frittered
No longer would they envy him
No longer did he shine at night
And in his misery, the sad bird flew
Deep into trees--concealment from sight
