The Gears of Time (Ever Changing, revised)
No matter where I am, time robs me.
It takes away my age, my whereabouts.
It steals my emotions and belongings.
But I guess that’s expected, for nothing is permanent.
Life is liquid, ever moving, ever changing, ever growing.
Family comes and goes, people grow, people grow old.
Sitting here, I wish time would pause.
But it cannot, for nothing is permanent.
In the future, we’ll grow up, and have to pay bills.
We may or may not have fulfilled childhood dreams.
I’ll think of days in the past, of a simpler time.
But I’ll venture forward and embrace my future.
For nothing is permanent.
