Thief
I did not know you had entered in
Your crime it was no bitter sin
But to find my loss gave a wounding start
For your thieving prize was my own heart
Another world would make it right
Together we could soon survive
But this is not a dreamers night
And so I'm lost in lovers plight
My heart was yours to break or keep
It was returned a bloody piece
All the damage then complete
Leaving me to run and weep
Fantasy's my enemy
for all it's wishes lost
If only I had known before
Reality's true cost
So now I hide beneath the sun
Enfolded by its shadow wing
The dagger's bite is finally done
For Love is such an awful thing
