Changed You
I can't write a word
And the colors blend together
When the valleys we're buried in
Are under different weather
Your lights are dim and symphonic,
Mine are cold as stone,
And so the nights I've spent here
Are distant, so alone.
When I find I've lost it
And I can't feel my wrists
I look to you and feel the breath
of the familiar kindly pitch
For the times that pass between us
When no words are exchanged
Because of closing eyes
That have no team with pain
I've grown a little wiser
Since the first time I met you
And though you won't see it,
I think I've changed you, too.
