Tempest Turns
It all started when you gave up,
when times began to turn unkind
and you paid too high a price--
I knew you could've endured
yet you thought otherwise.
You shouldn’t have dwelled
in your miseries all alone
had you called me then,
I wouldn’t have left you
abandoned and forlorn.
I wish I’d been there
when hard times left no trace
You breathed your last;
The tempest turned
but you already passed.
