We Are Beautiful
We are the empty, we are the broken,
We are the words gone unspoken.
We are the dark, we are the day,
We are forgotten memories.
We are the sugar coated glares
And the reason people care.
We are the tears that come at night
And the fear that makes them fight.
We are the youth depended on
And the nine minute long songs.
We are the hugs that last forever
And we are the constant changing weather.
We are the hollow holes in hearts
Of the kids who broke apart.
We are the six strings on guitars
That brings the raw and the bizarre.
We are the poems children wrote
And the secretly passed notes.
For we make life what it’s become
And we’re the strength to overcome.
We are beautiful.
