thirty-four cents
thirty-four cents is all he says
as he lays upon the floor
thirty-four cents is all he asks
 he's already asked for more.

thirty-four cents will put his total
at what he needs to buy
 a shiny new playstation game
 the wishes off this guy.

thirty-four cents is all that's left
 of his thirty dollar goal
he's mowed two lawns, washed dishes, vacuumed
 he's really on a roll.

thirty-four cents is all he says
as he wanders about the room
looking for something to earn his wish
my mother hands him a broom.

thirty-four cents is placed in his hand
when he's finished with the stairs,
i'd tell you what game he chose to buy
 but really, i don't care.
