Awake
I’ve woken from my broken sleep
Eyes emptying my grief
I turn away while crying out
Someone save me now
The sea has swallowed everything
For which my arms foolishly reach
I do not know that waisted face
I do not know that eating pain
I’m trapped within the lions claws
An iron grip of deadly jaws
Once long ago I had a heart
But it’s been slowly ripped apart
I walk a corpse on beaten feet
Wanting not to live or breathe
The sky is dead without the sun
Oh what have I become?
