powwow
Pow-wow a maze of different colors as the people rejoice
The flow of the fringe of the fancy shawls as it swings in the air
The feathers float like a bird flying
The green grass is soft under my moccasin
The drum stick is soft with deer hide as my hand grips the handle
The eagle fan is soft as the feather it touches my face
The Pow-wow food smell travels through the air to my nose
The smell of the bread frying in the hot liquid
I smell the corn and deer as it cooks over the open fire
I bite into the deer meat and corn
The wild taste of the deer meat satisfies my hunger
Along with the fried bread
I hear the song as the drum beats
There’s an eagle whistle as the dancers want the song to go on
I feel, hear and am proud of the drum and songs
