Absolute
Girls who wonder if they are worthy,
Often wonder if they are beautiful,
Often wonder if they are loved,
Seldom trust that they are special.
Though tip-toeing into the spotlight,
They find they can live outside themselves,
Yet their hearts barely register the visage,
And still their confidence rusts on the shelves.
Though wise and reflective and thoughtful are they,
Unnoticed goes the truth of their condition,
Too often they search for their completion in others,
Too often this is their misdirected mission.
If only they knew how beautiful they were,
How their souls and hearts are so very rare,
If only they knew they were undeniable,
But to truly believe in themselves, they don’t dare.
