What Good is Conscience Slain?
I stroll about reflecting on my day
Thinking what could I do, what should I say
Could I have told him of the truth this time?
Or should I just slip back into the rhyme?
Why do above all else myself sustain?
What good is respect gained, but conscience slain?
The doubting thoughts I’ll have to leave behind
With God alone must I myself align
But first I will need to get past myself
Knowing that in the hands of God doth lie
My soul, my heart, my health
