"Writer's block: n. When characters get tired of everything you put them through and go on strike."

Shadowed, and dusky
Heartbroken, crying
Tired of life
Tired of trying
Tired of watching
The fairy tale romance
Tired of being
Unfair

Romeo, Juliet
The names strike a chord
Hopeless romantics
Two lovers doomed
The popular, pretty,
Must have their drama
It's not the right moment
But fate doesn't
Care

But the girl in the shadows
Heartbroken, crying
Robbed of her romance
The boy wasn't trying
The other Juliet
Brought down by her love
Just another girl
Unfair

Rosalind, girl of shadows,
Cry your eyes out
They don't really care
The pretty boy
And the pretty girl
Has anyone told you
That life isn't
Fair?

The author's comments:
As you can probably tell, I was inspired by the story of Romeo and Juliet, and, in particular, Rosalind. Poor girl.

I like this poem a lot! The poem reflects things from Rosalind's point of view, but this is also your own door to the world of Romeo, Juliet, and Rosalind. Thank you for sharing that door with the rest of us. Please check out and comment on a few of my pieces, particularly my newest one that just got approved, "Maybe the biggest of my life".

This is very good and interesting! I love how you give Rosalind a voice after Romeo is blinded by how 'beautiful' Juliet is, even more so then her. all in all its Amazing what u did :DDD
