Fly Away
I often sit and watch the birds overhead
as they go about their random life
and I wish as lay down in bed
that I was one of them, without human strife.
I’d fly high above the clouds,
nothing earthly could hold me down.
I’d sing my birdsong strong and loud,
for the world to hear, from town to town.
Why must life often be so hard
with stressful pain each day,
We must look into the sky,
spread our wings and fly away
The halls of school are too crammed,
the kids always shoving, shoving, shoving.
The heavens above are never dammed,
wide open fields, with creatures kind, loving.
The girls in class are rude and dry;
too much drama, make-up, and hate.
But the birds are beautiful way up high,
their free minds never discriminate.
Why must life often be so hard
everyone has to get their way,
We must look into the sky,
spread our wings and fly away
