A Message to Adults
Teenagers are bad influences.
 They consistently make poor decisions.
They party until three in the morning
 Without any supervision.
 Teenagers are bad influences.
 They smoke packs of cigarettes.
They drink with friends nearly every night
 And still have no regrets.
 Teenagers are bad influences.
They deal drugs out of their basements.
They dream of being a part of gangs
 And shop for gun emplacements.
 Teenagers aren’t all bad influences
 Some love to baby-sit.
Some hang out with their parents
 And aren’t embarrassed by it.
 Teenagers aren’t all bad influences.
 Some help their community.
Some enjoy stacking cans and helping out
 At their local food pantry.
So before you make quick judgments
About the teenager down your street,
 Put aside the ridiculous prejudices
And take time with them to meet.
