A Rain Soaked Sentiment
waiting for the inevitable
but savoring the last dry winds
trees rustle, branches trying to flee
yet, an awkward hush has fallen
animals scurry quietly about
looking for shelter before…
thunder crashes! it’s low rumble
vibrates around the hills
lightening splits the sky in two
watch in fantastic awe
staring up at the heavens
maybe, just maybe, there is a god
he is an artist, clouds part
a last glimmer of shine
slowly disappears
then, tension breaks
a single drop falls into dry dirt
wonders of life beauty is all mine
look skyward, rain splattered face
spin 'round, outstretched arms
just dancing in the rain
