Winter's Divide
Leaves turn from crimson to gold
summer passion given away to bitter cold
sidewalk cracks that we walk broken within
throw your head outside the window
and feel the air flow over your skin
She ran into your life like water over rocks
filling the holes in your heart
you swore you'd never be apart
you dreamed of her eyes and the curve of her smile
the thoughts of her won't leave you for a while
as she you walked away she gave you a last look
all those minutes of your life she took
and you'd relive each one if you could
and remembering it all you probably would
you left on that road to walk alone
and carried with you a heart of stone.
