A Few Boxes
I open my box and what do I see
Something I know was meant for me
A something or other I desire a lot
But not anything that gives me a clot
A jewel piece or perhaps a pen set
So very many things I can get I know
So let it be opened and let its contents show
Many things it can store I see
An ornament or a pearl from the sea
A lot of things it may hold
From pens of metals to coins of gold
Of very many sizes does one get
Some containing a dry and some a wet
You without opening can’t know how much it holds ,not even in a million years’
It can hold all from diamonds to tears
Can even hold weapons like swards and spears
Even our minds have boxes to hold our fears
A container for many things
Or it could mean a boxing ring
A box has much to do
To package a gift red or blue
For ,this package ,is a box on which I spent
To wish you a festive day, it has been sent.
