Summer
A thundering quiet
 Summer, a season to dream.
 To live and to love.
 To enjoy the warming sun
And swim in the joyful sea.

 Watermelon seeds
 Being spat every which way.
 Ice cream on a cone.
 And sweet lemonade to drink.
Such are the food of this time.

 The guns of glory
 Go into battle once more
 A rainbow of shots
 Destined to spray their target
To leave a stain and a bruise

 My nights spent with you
Shows how summer can be spent
 Between two lovers
Staying up late with the moon
 My hand intertwined with yours

 Spending time at sea
Fishing from the boat or shore
 Swimming in the blue
 Tanning under the hot blaze
Back and forth over the net.

 Summer is a dream
 And fall the awakener
 But the memories
Those are what we must treasure
 No matter what may happen.
