My heart feels
My heart feels
like a million pounds
When I think of you.
My lungs close in
and I can’t breathe.
Tears threaten to
fall down my face
when thoughts of you
enter my head.
They fall, each one
a memory of you.
the wind in my face
and my feet on the ground,
I run faster and faster.
I’m not running
anywhere,
I’m going to the end
of the world.
As my legs move
in the same rhythm
as my heart,
I know I am free
to leave you behind.
