Goodbye
It wasn’t very smart
For me to give you my heart
 But everybody makes mistakes

 Every once in a while
 You can make me smile
But when that happens, my heart aches

 I wish you had stayed
 Innocent that way
But you had to change your identity

 I miss the other you
 Suspicions very few
But you’ve made such a fool out of me

 I feel so ashamed
 My very soul is maimed
But the guilt, the shame is mine alone

 You should have been good
Instead, you moved to where I stood
But I didn’t know how much you’d grown

 Generous and sweet
 The person I would meet
But it’s not you, you were a fraud

 Now I say adieu
To what was me and you
But I know that we were very flawed
