i give you a shield
Not a sword nor a knife.
I give you a shield.
It’s my way to keep you safe like a lock and key.
It promises defense against others,
Like the stead of a knight.
Here.
It will be of use,
Like a moat surrounding a castle.
It will keep others at bay.
I’m trying to slow your opponents.
Not a helmet or a bow.
I give you a shield.
It will keep you from massive gashes,
Like a man fighting for his life,
For as long as it will last.
Take it.
It will keep you out of harms way,
If that’s what you’d like.
Lethal.
It can hurt the other person,
By bouncing of your shield attacking them at will.
