Divorce
From the sound of his voice
When he called us down,
We could tell something wasn't right.
And we'd heard them all week,
Thought nothing of it
When they had started to fight.
But now our world is upside down,
It seems that everything's done.
No more of the things we love,
The places we go to have fun.
No more weekends up at the lake,
No long summer days at the fair.
No music on the lake or seaweed to rake,
Or water running down from my hair.
We'll find a new town,
And find a new school,
I'll miss all my friends,
And feel like a fool.
Then I'll remember how it used to be,
Remember the times that we had.
I'll know how much it means to me
To be happy with Mom and Dad.
