Mom, Thank you
You made me who I am today,
You always knew the right words to say
You let me express myself in ways unknown
With you by my side I’ll never be alone
You let me make my own mistake
Even when everything was at stake
You let me be, as long as I knew real from fake
You always told me never to lose faith
Because God will be with me every step of every way
You saw me change day by day
As my “I love you’s” slowly turned to “I don’t know what to do”
And then “mom you will never get me”
And I was right, you won’t because you don’t see what I see
But that doesn’t mean you can’t relate
And I’m sorry I realized that too late
But you said that sorry doesn’t matter, your actions towards it do
 And still I grew
And even if I don’t say it enough I still love you
And I know you do too
 And even though I’m changing
What I feel for you is always going to stay the same
 Mom, thank you!
