Vividly
Sitting here thinking about when the summer is gone,
Listening to Miranda sing about how it’s time to get a gun,
Touching my books so softly and realize which is my favorite one,
Which is the one I will never get done,
Take me away to a place so lovely,
Where I can fly and be me,
Where the moon doesn’t just beam,
Where imagination can run truly free,
I can remember vividly,
Just what my dreams have done to me,
Every night they feel so vivid that I believe,
Believe it’s reality,
Scared me half to death last night,
Woke up sweating my mind out in the moonlight,
Wanting to scream because even though the room was pitch black it felt too bright,
Right now I don’t want to be comforted, don’t want to hear an “It’s all right”,
Life is crazy sometimes,
Drives me out of mind sometimes,
Wakes me up in the middle of nights,
So I started writing these rhymes,
Because of everything I believe in firefighters,
I care for cigarette-lighters,
Notice the people who smile so much brighter,
Notice the people who have laughs that are lighter,
Scared me half to death last night,
Middle of the night,
Hanging on to the reality of the clock saying midnight,
Waiting for sunlight,
Break through the dark,
Bring joy to my heart,
I know that the light is still pretty far,
But I just need a moment of light to get my jump start,
Made me smile my heart out last night,
Middle of the night,
Pushing away the reality of the clock saying midnight,
Not wanting the sunlight.
