Ode to My Cello
A most beautiful sound
rings out around the bright stage.
The lights shine down on an instrument
as colorful as a blood orange.
The audience is still.
A deep voice speaks
from its heart.
Shiny end pin and anchor
is a gun in its holster.
Memories flood me.
My first concert in fifth grade,
A sixth grade solo,
A seventh grade All-Region program.
When you're alone,
do you miss me?
Are you cold until i come
and play with you?
I love you.
My cello.
