She’s got everybody fooled.
She’s got everybody fooled.
She nearly has herself fooled.
Look at her, she looks happy.
So she must be happy,
Right?
She’s not happy.
She’s mistaken.
Look at her, she has wonderful friends.
Friends that are constantly there.
Right?
Maybe constantly just isn’t enough.
She’s alone.
Look at her, she’s always so content.
So pleased with everything.
Right?
She has no idea what’s going on.
She’s confounded.
Look at her.
Look at her like you’ve never looked at her before.
Look into her eyes,
Into her soul, her essence.
You can’t,
She won’t let you.
She’s afraid, terrified.
She’s so fearful.
Look once more,
Look deeper.
What do you see?
You get a glimpse, but of bareness.
Of emptiness.
Austerity and worthlessness.
She feels stranded, left in the dark.
Her eyes stay open as she hopes for a sign.
An indication.
Of anything, anyone.
A signal,
That someone is near.
A clue,
To what is going on there.
In that dark, sinister place.
The place she calls life.
The place where she is trapped.
She wants out.
She needs light, hope.
She needs radiance.
Maybe even just a spark.
Anything, so she knows she’s not alone.
Unaided.
She’s mistaken.
