My Prayer
This is nothing special, just a simple prayer.
Who knows? Maybe it’ll help any readers out there.
I know it’s very easy to help your friends.
When we fight, it’s almost effortless to make amends.
But I don’t pray for those who show us kindness, I pray for those who haven’t yet.
Jesus, help our enemies, because we always seem to forget.
Lord, teach us to comfort those who jeer.
Remind us that forgiveness is nothing to fear.
Father, make us swallow our pride.
Put the truth in our mouths, even to those who have lied.
God, lift your hand and make our arrogance budge.
Tell the world heaven doesn’t hold a grudge.
Amen.

I think my gift is poetry, and I also think I need to stop being so cold to the bullies of my school. I'm sure they're lonely, after all. :)
