The Silent Alarm
The day starts with the rise of the sun,
A sure and steady gentle strum
We all awaken as its music falls
In colours of orange on our bedroom walls
Breezes swim through our open windows
And cause leaves to cast soft shadows
The last remnants of a dream pass
Leaving me wishing sleep would last
But the sun’s light is just as alluring
And inside I feel a delicate stirring
The sun is what puts my feet on the floor
It makes waking up less of a chore.
