Midnight and Dusk
Gazing from rooftop to rooftop, scarlet sun to azure moon
The crystals in the rain don't sparkle like the ones wildflower bloom
That cold wind blows, sailing through every strand of her hair
She could cast that passing glance, and all I'll do is stare
Inner city ways, were the center of our days
I wish you could see me when the clock does chime
Every kiss could last a lifetime
We were just children actors in a crazy, crazy play
Up on the phone till the we couldn't say a word
A greater feeling we just lost our heads in a blur
The way those rays just glistened on her face
Her cheeks would blush when he vanished
Without a trace
Another melody another chase
I guess one day we'll find a better place
That one day our eyes did meet
Was an explosion of passion
Never again did we think it would go away
Years went by and total strangers we were
The warm in our hearts chilled by winterfrost
I guess we never stood a chance to the seasons
When did we become so lost?
If fate has intervened oh lord I hope she has
To guide me by the hand so my spirit can outlast
They all got a nasty jive to hell with what they speak
Even when our darkest love, always shone so bleak
I can love and love until my touch is numb
As this poem is graced by the summer sun
That wind, is just an old familiar breeze
But as long as I am in her heart
I can be at ease
