Quatrain: Writers Block
Writers block is a most frustrating thing.
Staring a blank page, waiting and waiting
And yet the inspiration never hits.
Pacing and pacing to no avail.
I tried it all, everything I could think of
To rid myself of this most inconvenient thing
I played my favorite songs and thought deeply of the meaning.
I read through my journal looking for inspiration.
I read the most touching, thought provoking books I owned
I paced and talked out loud to my neighbor’s cat,
Surely my neighborhood thinks I’m quite loony.
I swear I’m not, I’m just thoroughly stymied.
Yes writers block is indeed most frustrating.
So I though and paced and talked
I ranted and read and listened
And finally I wrote, about writers block.
