The Besetting
A tempest foul and furious,
came sweeping down my lane.
And thus I sheltered spirit pious,
allowing ravage 'gain.
Ignoring torrid weather ne'er,
the stormy skies engross
that every woken instant dreary,
and draw, now, ever close.
Assuaging winds from westward blow,
and soothe my zealous core.
Tomorrow, though, returns ego,
and storms bestow no cure.
