Mom
There was this girl,
She was the blackbird,
Sleek, sly, unwilling to be changed
Gone with the light,
Arriving in the dark,
A vampire bat, one broken wing,
But still able to kill,
She was rattle snake, legless killer,
Poisoning her victims
Scarring them with her warning,
She was like a child
left without a mother,
Without a caring adult,
Then she came along,
She stripped her of her bad habits,
Fixed her, filled her with hope
Of a new beginning,
Made her new,
A doll, a daughter, a living puppet,
Someone can love after all shes done
To hate, but now she’s a flower,
A star, a human being,
But who is that person?
The one who fixed her,
Made her who she is
And always wanted to be,
She’s my best friend,
My hero, and the best of all,
My mom.
