red of fiery core
hung upon a seed of lore
dreams of meadows lined in
gold, whispers of a tale once told
poison, venom through its veins
seven streamed with salty
rain, Secrets, witches,
baskets, crowns
fooled by its red,
silky gown.

Interesting~ I never thought of a red apple in this way, but it plays a role in fairy tales.
