One Not Two
So true to soon forsaken left out gathering dust
Cold steel expression left in the rain to rust
Sworn to uphold the values I fight for, a vision out of place
Too scared to lose those precious eyes, a reality I can't face
Piano drowns out the frantic screaming in the room
Only thing the child knows as healing, music soothes the savage beast
A truth unknown tears a hole into what's whole
Yet too soon, cannot bear this on my soul, I cannot stand it in the last
Who was I to believe two was one when one was at ease with two
Jealously stings like frozen ice, sticks to you numb you can't forget
I should have been a man of better judgement, known when it was through
Just another fool to be laughed at, their laughter kills like injected meth
