Red Trees
The trees are red as blood,
for once there was a battle,
both fierce and quiet,
not a noise was heard,
for everyone died without a word,
blood going everywhere,
staining the leaves red as blood,
arrows raining down,
giving the trees blood instead of rain,
days after body piles are still climbing,
higher and higher the flames blaze,
eating the bodies hungrily,
soon only bones remain,
and none speaketh of the day when the trees turned red.
