Nameless Soldiers
she is fighting for her freedom;
breaking the shakles
wrapped around her ankles,
blood dripping from her nose,
in a pattern that leaves the dead in it's wake.
she's locked in a cellar,
closed off in darkness.
she scratches at the window sill,
screaming...
everyone can hear her screaming,
but no one is listening.
(chorus)
we are all soldiers
without a name,
fighting a battle,
turning into a war.
with bruised bodies,
& broken bones
we stand tall beneath the bridge
that beckons destruction.
his battle is silent;
refusing to make a sound.
there are snakes running around his wrists,
cutting their fangs into his veins.
sometimes he can't breathe,
& gets the urge to scream
but the fight for his voice, is the fight for his life.
& with his name whispered in the wind
he is one out of the thousand soldiers
crashing to the bottom of the sea.
(chorus)
we are all soldiers
without a name,
fighting a battle,
turning into a war
with bruised bodies,
& broken bones
we stand tall beneath the bridge,
that beckons destruction
(bridge)
everyday there is a fight,
everyday there is a struggle,
to come out on top,
to battle for such innocence
everyday we are standing at the front lines
with our guns in our hands,
everyday we are standing side by side
our names lost because the army is deep.
we will never be insigificant,
because we will never stand alone.
(chorus)
we are all soldiers
without a name
fighting a battle
turning into a war
with bruised bodies
& broken bones
we stand tall beneath the bridge
that beckons destruction.
