Tamara Lee Legarza
Here I sit and wonder why?
Everyone makes mistakes, right?
No one deserves to die.
Her future once was so bright.
Then, it came tumbling down.
In a perfect tornado-like corkscrew.
No one expected her life to be blown.
If only there was someone that knew.
Yet, it seems to me,
That she waters heaven with her tears,
not because she hurt her family,
but because she was too mesmerized by the abundance of beers.
Should she die?
Leaving a daughter with no mother?
Letting her cry?
Leaving her to her grandmother?
Is it okay?
Simply for Shelby
to do nothing but lay
in her bed of tears that form a sea?
I think not.
I feel for her,
she seems caught
trying to let go of her.
She knew it wasn't smart,
with the chemical imbalance in her brain,
now we feel in our heart,
that we should have helped her maintain.
But now there is no one to blame,
no one to shame,
no one to tell her she's the same,
and no one to reignite the flame.
