Dining For Two
A polished shoe did step along that stair
Onto the porch, which longed for trodden walk
Thus made the pressure not to make an err
And wringing chimed as hands hit the o’clock
The silverware did gleam a certain shine
And chairs were pushed for each of the two guest
Query exchanged as they began to dine
So clockwork meal did serve time to digest
Between the servings mind began to wonder
What of the quantity in which she ate
Though appearing normal in asunder
Adding the quantities together made them great
Said, “apatite is strong which you pursue”
Then shuffled in a chair still in her chew
“I eat so much because I dine for two”
And child bid her visitor adieu
